Here's some of the work that I've been doing for Justice Falls.
Our golden age hero Captain Fantastic.

Some of our more terrifying street urchins.

The "might be" hero the Airman.

Robert Harm, or Justice Falls equivalent to Kenneth Lay.
Sex and Scotch everyone, I fucking love you.

Pumpkin

So I have a shit ton of work that I desperately need to get done.
Instead I did this...

I just got another commission tonight for some t-shirt designs...which they need tomorrow. So this makes day three with next to no sleep. I also did a WOW design for a friend which he wore to Blizzcon and a bunch of Irvine big-wigs saw...so apparently we're going to have a booth there next year, but we need to start planning for a pitch now. I should have some pics up from that soon. No word on The Upper Deck gig as of yet...but I'm still holding out for them. Also...starting on another comic project..."Garett Fury." More details on that later.

A post...there's some good things heading my way lately, but even with that there is a need for some changes. I've felt lately like there's been a lot of time wasted...but I'm not entirely certain how I can cram much more into the day. I was talking to my friend Thor today about starting an artists guild as a way of networking...which could eventually lead into a corporation which we have also discussed. My thought is that we can establish a group for discussion of philosophy, politics, faith, the socially contextual and any economics all in relation to the arts. Any visual artists, musicians, writers, or critic would be welcome, with the understanding that we would be based around a certain amount of professionalism. The idea stems from a group Marx was a part of, which is why we keep the same name, The Young Hegalians. We wouldn't necessarily be focusing on Hegalian thinking, but would try instead to keep the structure of the origional group, such as meeting in bars and trying to avoid any specific advancement beyond the group, such a club or any sort of specific charter...and absolutely no dues.

I'm going to try desperately to avoid rotting in pretty little California...which is why I need to make some things happen.

Scotch and sex America. I fucking love you.

Coyote

If you've ever wanted to come to southern California, don't. Today I watched a grown man walk off the bus and ride away on a skate board...while holding a baby.

Here's the new illustrations of coyote...

Scotch and sex America. I fucking love you.

Some new things

Not only have I never had a blog I haven't written anything much since I finished college almost a year and a half ago. I'm hoping to use this to work out some of my thoughts and present somethings that I've been working on, illustration wise.

About seven months ago or so I began working on a comic called Justice Falls written by Brent Cory and Matt Marks. We've been working on and off, but I finally feel like we're makeing some moves and all it took was trashing most of what we've done so far. It's for the better. The story didn't have any real substatial flow to it. The thought was that chaos in story telling would be be in a way groundbreaking, which led me into thinking that chaotic illustration and character design would be groundbreaking.

It wasn't.

It was just ugly.

So...we've scrapped several characters and set some others aside for now, and brought on what seems to be a more serious tone to the story and clear hook. As Brent described it, "...it's what would happen if you put Superman in Gothom and made his nephew Ironman." Except that our Ironman character, Airman, is shockingly more of an asshole then Tony Stark, simply because of how oblivious he is. With the changes that Brent and Matt have made I feel like it's necessary that I take a on a more appropriate look at the character designs, something closer to realism, but still try to keep a surrealistic flavor.

This evening I finished the new designs for Coyote, my favorite character. I feel like he's going to be our hero. I wasn't giving him the attention that he deserves. I'll be posting them up soon.

I'm also going to be working on some sketch cards for Upper Deck as promotion for the new Thor movie...kind of looking forward to that, should be pretty interesting.

Alright then...a post...hopefully it's only down hill from here. I might soon be throwing up some rants about the demise of the middle class and end of worker...and how it feels like it's all just about to fall down. It might seem like I'm calm a collected if you don't know me...but the truth is that I'm one of the angriest people that you'll come across. If I'm speaking professionally, then I suppose I'm speaking professionally...but if not then you'll quickly find that I can be kind of a fucker.
